WAWestern Australia nomination
Western Australia runs its program around its own occupation lists, weighted heavily toward construction, health, mining and engineering. Like South Australia, the entire state including Perth is designated regional.
What connection they want
WA has typically required either current employment in the state in your nominated occupation, or a genuine commitment to move, with graduates of WA institutions treated separately.
How the program behaves
- Perth being regional means the 15-point 491 nomination is available while living in a capital city.
- WA has periodically revised its occupation lists in response to specific industry shortages rather than on a fixed annual cycle.

Before you commit to WA
- Confirm your occupation appears on the current WA list - state lists are much narrower than the national list.
- Get your skills assessment and English test done. Most states will not consider you without them.
- Work out your points score, then check it against what WA has recently invited.
- Check whether WA requires its own registration separate from your SkillSelect EOI.
- Be honest about the commitment. Nomination is granted on the basis that you will live and work there.
Registered migration agents
We are building a directory of MARN-registered agents and immigration lawyers. Listings are checked against the public register before they appear.
How the directory worksPlacement shown on the WA nomination page.
